MLA / CE - Week 7: Podcasts & Online Hosted Video

Odeo

I found Odeo easy to use and enjoyed listening to several podcasts. The only problem I had was in finding a podcast with a “subscribe” button. I finally subscribed to “Ask the Pharmacist”.

YouTube

It was fun looking at the videos on YouTube. Some of the videos were quite imaginative and funny - e.g. “The Adventures of Super Librarian” (McCracken County Public Library). Other videos lacked humour. I chose to post a more serious one - “What is the Cochrane Collaboration”. [See previous post.]

I can see using podcasts for teaching, library tours/orientation, library news, and for promoting library events.
